The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is celebrating 75 years by sharing a Throwback Thursday photo to remind everyone the Raccoon season is beginning on Sept. 19. This picture, courtesy of the Tennessee State Library and Archives, depicts the Coon Dog Field Trials in Henderson, Tennessee. Pictured are a truckload of hunting dogs or “coon hounds” (perfecting the hunting of specifically possums, squirrels and rabbits) paired their owners on April 28, 1940.
