PRESTON RILEY Obituary – April 9, 1949 – June 22, 2022

Preston L. Riley, 73, of Henderson passed away June 22, 2022 at his home. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial followed in Chester County Memory Gardens. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from noon-2 p.m. service time.
He was born April 9, 1949 in Bethel Springs, the son of the late James Froman and Sophie Mae Clayton Riley. He grew up in Chester County and attended Chester County High School.
He married Kathy Bushnell on April 6, 1976. They made their home in Henderson for 46 years. In his early years, he farmed. Then he worked in road construction for most of his career, spanning nearly 50 years, retiring in 2014.
He was a simple man who enjoyed a simple life, working, fishing and spending time with his grandbaby. He loved his wife and his son dearly.
He read his Bible often and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.      
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Bushnell Riley of Henderson; a son, Cody (Kendall Dellinger, Fiancée) Riley of Jackson; one grandchild, Ainsley Carol Taylor Riley; a sister, Doris Jean (Buddy) Riley Smith of Finger; and one sister-in-law, Donna Jean Riley of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Allen Riley.
