A Retirement Reception was held on Friday, June 28, at the Chester County Criminal Justice Center to honor Blair Weaver. Weaver worked for the Chester County Sheriff’s department for the past 31 years. He was appointed in 2009 and ran for Sheriff in 2010. The courtroom was full of supporters from the community, and a large crowd waited in the courtroom hallway to thank Weaver for his service.
Chief Deputy Mark Griffin presented Weaver with a gift on behalf of the Sheriff’s department. Retired Sheriff Eric Bell (who had hired Weaver in 1993) presented him with a plaque for his 31 years of service. State Senator Page Walley presented him with a Proclamation. Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser presenting him a Lawman Statue. Field Representative Monte Belew from David Kustoff’s office presented Weaver with a flag. Commissioner of Safety, Jeff Long presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation from Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.
Speakers throughout the ceremony included family, community members, coworkers, members of the law enforcement community and many more.
Sheriff Weaver’s official retirement date was Wednesday, July 3.
