REV. RAYMOND HARDIN Obituary – Dec. 8, 1933 – March 3, 2023

Raymond William Hardin, 89, of Finger passed away March 3, 2023, peacefully at his home with friends and loved ones at his side.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Mike Cothren, Marty Hardin and Victoria Hardin officiating.
Burial followed in Lake Hill Memory Gardens at Bethel Springs. The family received friends at East Main from 12:30-2:30 p.m. service time.
He was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Hornsby, son of the late Odell and Pearl McIntyre Hardin. He grew up and attended school in Hornsby.
He married Jean Newsom on May 29, 1954, and they made their home in Finger. They had enjoyed 68 years together. He worked for General Electric in Selmer for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was also a Baptist Minister for over 40 years, serving churches at Cabo, Mason Wells, Cave Springs, Faith Baptist and lastly First Baptist in Finger. He enjoyed listening to the St. Louis Cardinals, watching NASCAR and the UT VOLS Football games. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Finger.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Newsom Hardin of Finger; a son, Marty (Caroline) Hardin of Sanford, Fla.; two grandchildren, Victoria Kelly Hardin and Cassidy Raegen Hardin; and one sister, Annie Grace Hubanks of Bethel Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.W. Hardin.
