As of Monday, September 20, a total of 3,275 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Chester County since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020. This is an increase of 161 cases in the past week. Of the total cases, 203 are currently active, which is a decrease of 51 active cases since last week.
“Active” cases are determined by the amount of time which has lapsed since diagnosis. At 14 days out from a positive test, cases are considered inactive or recovered, with the exception of those resulting in death, and sometimes seem to cause a discrepancy between “total cases” and “active” cases. The number of inactive or recovered cases is 3,011.
Total COVID-related deaths in the county have increased by three this week to 61.
The county also reports 35.11% of local residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, with 29.5% having received both doses, or series completion.
Tennessee reports a total of 1,190,689 cases statewide with 1,107,829 recorded as inactive or recovered and 14,450 deaths related to the coronavirus.
Tennessee Department of Health shows 51.7% of Tennesseans have received at least one dose of a vaccination regiment, and 44.1% of Tennesseans are fully vaccinated.
