Independence Day has come and gone. Hope that everyone was able to celebrate the long weekend and reflect on the beautiful gift of the freedom we share and the lives sacrificed and dedicated to protecting that freedom.
In travel news David and Jacie (Stack) Reagan from Michigan recently spent a week in Silerton visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stack. They were also able to visit with her aunts, uncles, cousin and her sister, Janalee Wilson.
In Silerton events Tommy Murley, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Stacy McCann, was in Silerton Saturday. A get to know you time was held at Silerton Baptist church. Tommy started the Silerton photography group on Facebook.
Mary Lynn Lambert reminds all to mark your calendar Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for VBS vacation day. There will be a Bible class, singing, crafts, lunch, a water slide and ice cream. Should make for a fun learning day!
Prayers for Sylvia (Wilson) Powell and Marilyn (Raines) Weaver as they adjust to a new lifestyle at the nursing home. Sylvia is in Bolivar Pine Meadows. Marilyn is in Henderson nursing home.
Condolences to the families of Faye Foote and Jimmy Hatch. Faye Foote was reared in Silerton. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey (Red) Stewart. Mr. Hatch was married to Virginia (Morris) Hatch who was reared in Silerton. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morris.
