The Chester County Eagles were at home this week as an underdog facing the South Gibson County Hornets. The two teams met on the field a day early, to get ahead of the rain Friday from Hurricane Helene.
Going into the game as an underdog, the Eagles managed to pull out a 28- 19 victory and now hold a record of 2-0 in region play and 3-2 overall this season.

The Lady Eagles took to the volleyball court last week to face the Liberty Lady Crusaders from Jackson.
Chester County was fired up and ready to play, claiming all three sets, 10-25, 25-7 and 25-8.

The Chester County High School Lady Eagles faced off against Fairview’s Lady Yellowjackets Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the regional tournament.
When the final whistle blew, Fairview had won with a final score of 6-1, and ending the season for Chester County.
The Lady Eagles put in the work this season, claiming the District Tournament win Oct. 10.
The Chester County High School Eagles traveled to Lexington Friday night to take on the Big Red Tigers, and came away with a resounding 35-14 victory.
The cross-country teams concluded their regular season on Oct. 25 to compete in the Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville, Tennessee, at Sequoyah Park.
The men’s race started at 9:30 a.m., and consisted of 207 male runners. All five of the scoring runners for the Lions set PRs.

The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion basketball team opened their season by hosting the Bearcats of Rust (Miss.) College. Despite a slow start for both squads, FHU took advantage of a 28-7 second quarter to earn a 72-48 victory.
