The Chester County Election Commission held a “mock” election at CCHS Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The Chester County Election Commission held a “mock” election at Chester County High School on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The students had the opportunity to experience voting just like it will be on Election Day. The election commission noted there were some fantastic student volunteers who served as their poll officials.
“The mock election is just another way our office partners with the schools to help students understand the responsibility and importance of civic engagement within the community. It is a fun way for our young people to familiarize themselves with the voting process, so it was definitely a success,” said Kathy Vest, Chester County Administrator of Election.
Senior students took advantage of the opportunity to register to vote during the event.
A total of 632 ballots were cast. Results in the top race were Trump/Vance: 45, Harris/Walz: 107, Bowman/Bowman: 4, De la Cruz/Garcia: 8, Fruit/Richter: 2, Kennedy/Shanahan: 25 and Samson/Kpafeno: 3.
The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 5 election will be Monday, Oct. 7. The Chester County Election Commission office will be at the 46th annual BBQ Festival to register voters from the community. Early voting is Oct. 16-31.
