Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter. I saw lots of pictures on Facebook of family get-togethers with kiddos hunting eggs, enjoying lunch and spending time with each other. There were lots of family church photos and sunrise services. It was a beautiful morning, and the sunrise over the crosses was gorgeous. We always enjoy our early morning service.
Danny and I, along with my sister Joan Massey and Annie Massengill, spent last week in the Smoky Mountains. We had a great time, and the weather was gorgeous. We grilled out by the creek, ate lots of good food, shopped, relaxed and even saw a bear from our balcony. We had a wonderful get-away. We love Gatlinburg!
April is nearing an end, and May will be arriving soon. May is a very busy month for many. Our Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual barbecue fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. May 10 beside the city hall in town. There will be barbecue pork, chicken and bologna available and barbecue ribs by pre-order only. You may call any fire department member to pre-order your ribs. We hope to see everyone there!
Decorations are upon us! Many cemeteries have them coming up: Fourth Sunday in April is Faith Baptist and New and Old Oak Grove Cumberland (Near Talley Town); First Sunday in May is at Mt. Zion, O’Neal, Roby and Grove Springs. Check the Chester County Independent for decorations at your local cemeteries. Pat Jones has compiled a complete list for us. Thanks, Pat!
Happy birthday wishes go to Donna Wade and Jerry Freeman on April 25, Jake Gray on April 26, J.P. Glover on April 27 and Emilie Holder on April 30. Happy anniversary to Gerald and Phyllis Russom on April 25 and Harry and Connie Timmer on May 1. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Robert and Linda Johnson, Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Shirley Bishop, Nita Middleton, Dorothy Allen, Janice Massengill Strickland, Reece Collins, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Jeff Finley, Jeremy Crowell, Tom Harwell, Glenn Butts, Rick Ooley, Mike Finley, Karl Starnes, Jack Hampton, all who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
If you want to rent the community center in the next couple of weeks, call Kaye Ritter at 731-926-0723, or if you have news to share or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058.
