Freed-Hardeman University is gearing up to welcome students and the Henderson community to the highly anticipated Jones Family Dining Hall, a modern dining facility designed to enhance meal options and convenience. Located at 250 East Main Street, the new space will feature three distinct areas: an all-you-care-to-eat cafeteria, a Chick-fil-A licensed location and the Lion’s Pride Express grab-and-go market, offering a variety of fresh and fast dining choices. Dining Options and Hours
The main cafeteria will offer an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience, available seven days a week during the academic year. Monday through Friday students, faculty, staff and guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner; Saturday and Sunday they can gather for brunch and dinner. The menu will feature a variety of options, including:
- traditional and classic meal selections;
- pizza, pasta and flatbreads;
- burgers and other grill sandwich options, along with french fries, onion rings and assorted side items and international cuisine;
- gluten- and allergen-free options; and
- soups, salads and desserts.
A licensed Chick-fil-A location also will operate inside the Jones Family Dining Hall. Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). While it will offer a full menu, some items may not be available due to space limitations. Most of Chick-fil-A’s beloved menu items will be available, including the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries, salads and a variety of desserts. Because the location is licensed, it will not accept gift cards or use the Chick-fil-A App. Additionally, the Lion’s Pride Express (LP Express) will provide grab-and-go meals, hot meal options, and snacks and smoothies, catering to students and visitors who need quick service.
Public Access and Parking
The Jones Family Dining Hall will be open to the public, with community members welcome during regular hours. Parking will be available in designated visitor spaces in front of the dining hall, with additional parking at the northwest corner of Main Street and White Avenue. Visitors should follow directional signage and note the right-turn-only exit onto Main Street to help with traffic flow.
Additional Information - While Chick-fil-A provides another dining option to students, members of the community are also invited to order carry out from the restaurant. When school is not in session, like during summer and spring breaks, the community can eat Chick-fil-A in the cafeteria.
- The facility will be open year-round, operating 310 or more days per year, even when school is not in session.
- Accepted payment methods include cash, major credit cards and FHU campus tenders (meal plans, Dining Dollars, Lion Bucks).
- Future campus gift cards will be available for use only at FHU dining locations.
