Carolyn Beacham Higgins is a first time grandmother. Her granddaughter, Nora Bailey Abernathy, arrived on Oct. 3 weighing in at six pounds, six ounces. Her parents are Chari and Weston Abernathy of Denver, Colo. The great-grandparents are Bailey Eugene and Lodie Beacham of Montezuma. Congratulations to all of you. Enjoy and love on her.
There will be a family reunion at the Montezuma Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 19, for the descendants of John Snider Griffin and Frank and Exie Griffin Latham. There will be a potluck lunch around noon. Bring old pictures if you have them to share with others.
Membership dues for the year are now payable. Contact Edith Sills or Ann Moore to make your payment. I hope that all of you realize what a great community we live in, and I would love to see more of you getting involved in our community and supporting our center.
