The Montezuma Community Center Committee would like to thank everyone that baked or provided food items for the recent Halloween celebration. There was plenty of fun to be had by the over 100 crowd that attended. The costume contest winners were as follows: three and under - first place, Lila Clayton as Little Red Riding Hood; second place, John Clyde Moore as Rubble from Paw Patrol; and third place, Emmarie Phelps as a Chameleon. Four to five years - first place, Savannah Jones as a Pirate; second place, Owen Wells as a Werewolf; and third place, Wyatt Cooper as Captain America. Six to eight years - first place Henry Monk as a Golden Ninja; second place, Avery Cooper as a Pretty Witch; and third place, Carter Joyce as Grand Reaper. Nine to 12 years - first place, Chase Crouse as a Scary Clown; second place Brody Woods as Dracula; and third place, Luke Moody as a Navy Seal. Adults - first place, Shelley Durance as Lieutenant Dan; second place, Mendi Moore as a Firefly; and third place, Cameron Phelps as a Praying Mantis.
The Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Billy Cherry on Oct. 31, Judy Cranford on Nov. 1, Jerry Cook and Renee Thomas on Nov. 2 and Jessica Fuqua on Nov. 7.
Please be in prayer for Debbie Beshires, Ricky Hearn, Nancy Thomas, Ed Morris, Evie Lee Sanders and Jimmy Cooper. Please be in prayer for the families of Jeff Holder, Wanda Pickett, Guy Neal Coady, Donald A. Newman, Julia Morris McCoy and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
