QMS to sponsor fundraiser for young cancer patient

Kenadie Brooks is described as a sassy six-year-old that makes everyone happy. She was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia in March. Since that time, she has undergone two phases of her treatment. They are beginning the third phase of her treatment that will last nearly two months and, as her mother says, is doing well and is the “worst cancer patient ever” but wouldn’t have it any other way.
Kenadie’s parents are both employees at Quality Metal Stamping (QMS) in Henderson. Their work family has been conducting various in-house fund raisers to help with expenses associated with Kenadie’s treatment.
According to Employee Engagement Manager Heather Griffin they are now going to host to a community-wide benefit for the Brooks. “The treatments require so much travel back and forth and expenses mount up quickly.”
A “Benefit for Kenadie” event will be held on Friday, Sept. 15. They will be selling grilled chickens for $5 per chicken half or $10 for a whole chicken.
They will be available from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at First Methodist Church located at 131 North Ave., at the back of the building.
Griffin said they will deliver to local businesses with orders of 10 or more.
