Sometimes in our journey with grief, we are troubled by every side. For example, there was a late actor who was extremely talented and sensitive. He arose from difficult and abusive circumstances and triumphed in his professional and personal life. When we lose someone near and dear to us, we may have our own doubts about our future and face other people who trouble us in their attempt to control or influence our decisions. This interference makes it difficult to have our journey be stress free and causes us to be littered with doubt. Even when troubles seem all around us, we need to persevere and never give up. Do not allow doubts and/or fears to overwhelm us to the point that that we lie down in defeat. Yes, there may be times when we feel hurt, but we should not give in to believing our life is over. We still have a purpose to fulfill, and we have a new chapter in our life to write. That is certain.
A good illustration is 2 Corinthians 4:8-9. Individuals were experiencing tribulation on every side to such a degree that they were unable to find a way out, yet they were not crushed or driven to despair. It is like feeling perplexed in one’s circumstances but not utterly perplexed. At a loss, but not utterly lost. Not forsaken, left behind, or left in the lurch. We may feel all alone, but we are not. There are people that are ready and willing to be our support system. If family members are unwilling or unable to be our support system, then there are others who are ready to step in and walk with us in our journey with grief. If we feel we are overtaken and smote down in our grief at any time, we need someone as our encourager, our pillar of strength and comfort. Help is always available.
