Sweet Lips

The Sweet Lips Community Center and Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone who came out in support of our annual stew and are especially appreciative to those who made donations! All proceeds from our sale and any donations made are used for the maintenance of our community center and fire department. We were blessed this year to sell over 150 gallons of the 180 gallons of stew prepared and to raise approximately $4,000.
This year, at our fundraiser, we had the privilege of honoring several exceptional individuals who have dedicated decades of service to the Sweet Lips Community. Although we wish we could extend our gratitude to every person who has dedicated their time and effort into shaping Sweetlips into the community it is today, these select few stand out and have stood the test of time in their service to bettering this place we call home. Jo Ann Greer, Neal Kinchen, Wendell Murphy, Donna Murphy and Cindy Springer have consistently been the first to arrive and the last to leave at every community event, as well as lend a helping hand to their neighbors in need – whether that be by serving as a volunteer firefighter, gathering donations for and working at community fundraisers or simply helping cook to provide meals for the families of community members who have passed on.
We hope that their demonstration of love for their neighbors and unwavering commitment is an example that will be followed by the younger members of our community in years to come. Sweet Lips is a better place because of each of these wonderful, hard-working people, along with countless others. It is our hope that we make them proud by continuing their legacy of dedication and servitude to our community.
