Thomas Edward Jones, 70, of Jackson passed away Dec. 12, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary and Blake Potter officiating.
Burial followed in Unity Cemetery. The family received friends at East Main Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
He was born in Memphis and grew up in Memphis, the son of the late Henry Thomas Jones and Margaret Maness Jones.
He moved to Mifflin in 1966 and graduated from Chester County High School in 1969. He went to Vocational School in Jackson and received his welding degree.
He began work running a Sealtest milk route in Henderson, farmed, drove as a long hauler, worked as a pipeline welder and worked as a welder at the Bemis Mill.
He returned to trucking and retired from Averitt Express.
He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and college football, especially Tennessee.
He is survived by stepchildren, Mitch Maness, Mick Maness and Mitzi Maness; two grandchildren, Myles Maness and Megah Maness Richards; and a best friend, Blake Potter.
