A Chester County man is dead and another injured following a head-on collission on U.S. State Route 100 at Guy McAdams Road Thursday afternoon. Terry Cox, 62, of Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash.
According to Sgt. Charles Childers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle wreck occurred around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19, and caused traffic delays and road closings for about three hours.
Childers said that an eastbound 2013 Kia Optima driven by 24-year-old Presley Robinson was stopped in the lane of travel on Hwy. 100, waiting to turn left onto Guy McAdams Road. Justin Grantham, 30, of Henderson, also eastbound, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado crossed over the center line as he approached the Kia, and crashed head-on into Cox’s 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. Grantham’s truck then spun and struck the Kia. According to the report, Robinson was uninjured. Grantham was airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis. According to a hospital representative, he was reported to be in good condition as of Monday afternoon. All parties reportedly were wearing seatbelts.
The crash is under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
