It was just a few weeks ago on Dec. 10-11 when West Tennessee and Kentucky were faced with the threats of tornadoes with northwestern Tennessee and Kentucky getting the worst of it. The devastation was followed with a couple weeks of December sunny weather with temperatures around 70 degrees that continued through Christmas and New Year’s. Then, between New Year’s (Saturday) and Sunday, January 2, the temperature dropped from around 70 degrees to below freezing. The freezing weather was accompanied with thick snowflakes falling Sunday afternoon/evening that covered Chester County with a white blanket which postponed some traveling back to Henderson from the holidays until Monday morning. According to the National Weather Service of Memphis, Chester County will be seeing more snow and freezing rain today (Thursday, January 6) with a chance of slick, icy roadways and bridges along with potential power outages. Pictured is snow covering the Chester County Courthouse lawn.
