Tyson DeRoss Walker, 19 years, 9 months and 3 days, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. Graveside services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Beech Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wooden officiating. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.
He was born Saturday, April 21, 2001 to Roma Croom and the late James “Moose” Walker. In Sept. 2008 he was baptized at Beech Spring Baptist Church. He received his education in the Chester County School System and graduated May 2019 from Chester County High School.
When thinking of him, polite, quite, even-tempered and comical are words that come to mind. He was outwardly easy going but a fiercely competitive youngster, especially when playing basketball. He also excelled at baseball and football. He enjoyed video games, fishing, cruising the backroads and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Roma (Deonta Hale) Croom of Henderson; siblings, Tanika (Cortez) Steele of Adamsville, Jalessa Walker of Selmer and Tyler Walker of Henderson; grandparents, Kenneth and Bonita Croom of Henderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James “Moose” Walker, and paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Willie Mae Walker.
