W.T. ROLAND Obituary – Sept. 4, 1934 – June 7, 2021

William Thomas Roland, 86, of Pinson passed away June 7, 2021 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from noon-2 p.m. Friday.
He was born Sept. 4, 1934 in Chester County, the son of the late Clifford Clinton and Lue Violet Isbell Roland. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1953 and Dragon’s Business College in Nashville and attended the University of Maryland while in the Military. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and served 26 years. He was stationed in Alaska, Thailand, Germany, Delaware, Florida and retired in New Jersey as a senior master Sergeant (E-8) in electronics and radio maintenance.  
He married Ellna Patterson in 1955. After the service, they returned to Chester County and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a MPE mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and golfing after his retirement. He was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ellna Mae Patterson Roland; two sons, William Timothy (Ping) Roland from Honolulu, Hawaii, and Tony Alan (Janya) Roland of Holly Springs, Miss.; a son-in-law, James Stacey of Niceville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rhonda Jean Stacey; two sisters, Imogene Moore and Bonnie Hooper; and two brothers, Willard Roland and Robert Roland.
