The cooler weather and whirling autumn leaves bring to mind steaming bowls of heartwarming soups and delectable desserts.
As the holiday season approaches, the Chester County Independent would like to be the first to wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and with it all of the holiday festivities begin. Holidays bring family, and family brings tradition. Familiar foods and festive settings and activities elicit memories of years gone by, and of hope for the future.
The Independent asks that you share with us your favorite fall recipes of soups, chili, stews, and fall inspired pies, cakes, etc., as well as holiday recipes and family traditions. Which cool weather and holiday dishes do you look forward to all year long? Print the recipe and include all ingredients with clear preparation and cooking directions. Remember to include your name and why the recipe is special to you.
We would also like to know what traditions make the holidays for your family. What special custom does your family include in holiday celebrations each year? What traditions do you hope to continue? Again, include your name and if known, how long the tradition has been carried on.
The deadline to send us your input will be Nov. 22. We will share your submissions with our community in the Nov. 28 edition of the newspaper. Any additional recipes received after the deadline will be shared on line or in print throughout the holiday season.
To submit your traditions and recipes, email them to hroeder@magicvalleypublishing.com, mail them to P.O. Box 306, Henderson TN 38340, or simply drop them off at the Chester County Independent office on South Church Ave.
