As the holiday season approaches, the Chester County Independent would like to be the first to wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and with it all of the holiday festivities begin. These familiar festivities might not look or feel so familiar this year, due to COVID-19, but the food will smell the same, and will likely elicit memories of years gone by, and of hope for the future.
The Independent asks that you share with us your holiday recipes and family traditions.
We would like to know which holiday dish you look forward to all year long. Please print the recipe and include all ingredients with clear preparation and cooking directions. Remember to include your name and why the recipe is special to you.
We would also like to know what traditions make the holiday for your family. What special custom does your family include in holiday celebrations each year? What traditions do you hope to continue, and how do you expect to adapt those traditions, with the coronavirus pandemic in mind? Again, include your name and if known, how long the tradition has been carried on, and print clearly.
The deadline to send us your input will be Nov. 20. We will share your submissions with our community in the Nov. 26 edition of the newspaper. Any additional recipes received after the deadline will be shared on line or in print throughout the holiday season.
To submit your traditions and recipes, email them to hroeder@magicvalleypublishing.com, mail them to P.O. Box 306, Henderson TN 38340, or simply drop them off at the Chester County Independent office on South Church Ave.
