Weekend wrecks take two lives in Chester County

Two fatal wrecks occurred in Chester Co. this past weekend.
The first wreck over the weekend occurred Friday, April 9, around 7:18 p.m. on State Route 200.
Steven R. Nelson, a 61-year-old from Pinson, was driving north on State Route 200 in a 1999 Ford Windsport while Carey Whitten, 57-year-old from Crump was traveling south, driving a 2009 Honda Civic.
As both entered a curve Whitten crossed over the center line and struck Nelson’s RV head-on.
Whitten died from the collision. Nelson suffered from no injuries.
The next wreck occurred about 9:42 p.m.
Two minors were traveling south on Garland Road in a 2006 Dodge when it exited the roadway at Frank Latham Road and struck a tree.
Passenger Ashton (AJ) Flatt,16 of Beech Bluff died from the crash.
He was a sophomore at Chester County High School.
