This Thanksgiving Day, West TN PBS WLJT-TV 11 will air their first-ever Thanksgiving Day 12-hour Parade Marathon. On November 23 from noon through midnight, the station will broadcast 12 straight hours of locally produced parade programming.
WLJT has curated the best of their locally produced parade shows, featuring festivals across West Tennessee. The programs include the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Parade in Paris, Tennessee, the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Grand Floats Parade in Humboldt and the Tennessee Soybean Festival in Martin.
“Thanksgiving is a time when families and friends gather and celebrate and that’s exactly what these 12-hours of parade programs are about, celebrating our communities,” says West TN PBS General Manager and CEO, Peter Noll, “WLJT is proud to produce so many local programs and this is the perfect time to showcase them.”
The West TN PBS Thanksgiving Day Parade Marathon will also feature WLJT’s recently produced Veterans Day special, “Honoring our Veterans,” a 1-hour show shot on location from the downtown Jackson, Tennessee Veterans Day Parade.
“Our station’s team puts in hundreds and hundreds of hours to produce these West Tennessee shows,” says West TN PBS Director of Production Darrell Conner, “We’re not aware of any other station doing this on Thanksgiving Day.”
