Big Country Breakfast and Bake Sale Aug. 20
The Big Country Breakfast and Bake Sale will be held at the Montezuma Community Center from 7-10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20. Come on out and enjoy homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, juice or milk all for $7 per plate. Bake sale items are donated and priced accordingly.
Wild Goose Fundraiser Aug. 27
The Enville Community Club and Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have our Enville Wild Goose fundraiser at 4 p.m. Aug. 27 with a spaghetti supper, cakewalk, silent auction and 50/50 drawing. We hope everyone will come out for great food, fellowship and fun; bring a cake and join us!
Trice Street Stew Sept. 10
The annual Trice Street Stew will be at Saturday, Sept. 10, at 543 and 563 Trice Street. If you would like to participate, please bring all meat donations on Friday, Sept. 9, and all vegetables by 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Stew should be ready to serve around 2 p.m. Bring your own containers and chairs. Come and enjoy the fellowship and games.
BBQ Festival Pig Trot Sept. 24
The Chester County BBQ Festival Pig Trot 5k/1 mile sponsored by FirstBank will be Saturday, Sept. 24, at No Xcuse Fitness, 123 Front ST, Henderson. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m.  Pre-registration entry fees are $25 for the 5k and $20 for the 1 Mile by Sept. 4. After Sept. 4 add $5. T-Shirt is included with pre-registration. Register on RaceRoster.com or obtain a registration form at FirstBank (main branch) or No Xcuse Fitness.
Upcoming Events at the Chester County Library
Junior High School Book Club Sign Ups Underway NOW! – Home school and public school students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade are invited to join our second annual Junior High School Book Club. Books are provided at no cost thanks to a grant from Southwest Electric Community for Change Grant Program for 10 participants. This year, we will be reading “And the Ocean Was Our Sky” by Patrick Ness in September, “Queen of the Sea” by Dylan Meconis in October and “All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys Soccer Teams” in November. Teen Advisory Board – Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Teens aged 12-17 are encouraged to come to the library as we celebrate banana split day! Teens have the opportunity through TAB or Teen Advisory Board to work with the director to discuss what kinds of programs, books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more that they want to see at the library. This month we will also enjoy banana splits as we play a game of Uno. 
Library Social Media Policy Sub-Committee – Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 from 5-6 p.m. 
Online Medical Resources – Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Led by Rebecca Seratt, this training provides information on safe, easy to use, and reputable sources to find medical and health information. From scientific studies to healthy recipes to learning about new health and wellness conditions, this is a great training to learn about the resources you have available for free. Canva Fliers and Newsletters – Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. Led by Kristy Sherrod, this training will provide information on how to create newsletters and fliers with Canva. Do you have a small business, daycare, handle the newsletters at church? Fourth Annual Library Card Sign-Up Event – Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 stop by the library anytime from 3:30-6:30 p.m. to take part in our annual library card sign up event. We encourage children and teens aged five up to 17 especially to sign up for their first library card. By doing so, they will be entered in a drawing for a free book AND the DVD bundle Sing & Sing 2. For those between the ages of five and 17 that receive their first library card, they will also receive a free book! Please note, a legal parent or legal guardian must be present for children under the age of 14 to obtain a library card. Parent or legal guardians must bring a photo ID and one piece of mail that shows their current address. We will have games, a scavenger hunt, and more set up for children and teens to enjoy.
