Alumni Day June 3
Chester County High School Alumni Association’s Annual Alumni Day will be June 3. Doors open at 10 a.m. with program starting at 11 a.m. and a meal to follow. We ask if you are planning to attend to please remit payment of $25 per person by May 26 to CCHS Alumni Association, PO Box 163m Henderson, TN 38340.
CC Historical Society June 5
The Chester County Historical Society will meet on June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center. The evening speaker will be Deidra, Park Ranger from Pinson Mounds Archaeological Park. Come hear about this prehistoric Native American Complex. Check out the new Chester County Historical Society Facebook page. Hope to see you and bring a friend.
Jacks Creek Community Club Meeting June 8
Jacks Creek Community Club will have a potluck dinner from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, to welcome families and members. The Dr. Kathy Mays Memorial Scholarship will be awarded. Please bring your favorite dish!
Finger Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry June 10
The Finger Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry and barbeque chicken dinner from 2-5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10. There will be all you can eat fish or chicken with all the trimmings and homemade desserts. Cost is $14 for adults and for takeout and $6 for children. All proceeds will go towards the operating expenses of the Finger Fire Dept.
Freed-Hardeman Soccer Camps June 18-22
The Freed-Hardeman University soccer program will host their annual soccer camps beginning the week of June 18. Camps are available for all ages with the boarding camp running from June 19-22 and the cub camp running in the morning of June 18-21. These camps will take place on the campus and utilize the two soccer fields. There are boarding and commuter rates available but space is limited so register today. Campers receive a camp ball, t-shirt, and evaluation as well as insurance for the week. Focus will be on skill development of each player and have scrimmages each evening. Cub camp is an abbreviated camp in the mornings for boys and girls aged 4-10. Boarding camps are for ages 11 and up and more intense. Lifeline Blood Drive June 19
Lifeline Blood Services will have a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Piggly Wiggly.
John Schneider at Williams Auditorium June 30
John Schneider, best known for playing Bo Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard, is coming to the Williams Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 30. He also played Jonathan Kent in the 2001–11 TV series “Smallville” and James “Jim” Cryer on the television series “The Haves and The Have Nots” created by Tyler Perry.He has released a number of country albums and charted four #1 hits, including “Country Girls,” “What’s a Memory Like You,” “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know” and “You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”
