Southwest Shopping and More now-Nov. 15
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, SWHRA has created the SAM—Shopping and More Program to provide free grocery delivery services to those who have compromised immune systems or are age 62 or older. This program is available through Nov. 15. How does this work? Visit our website www.swhra.org and click on our “Call SAM” icon to place an online grocery order to be delivered to your home or call 1-800-372-6013 ext. 1182 to place your order over the phone. Payment for the cost of your groceries will be collected upon delivery.
Cookies for Cancer Benefit Nov. 14
Cookies for Cancer will host a fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Dreamland Bedding & Furniture, 3605 Hwy. 45 N. For a donation you will receive your choice of a bowl of chili, chili dog, Rotel, chips, and dessert. Dreamland will also be offering a 10 percent discount on any in stock inventory purchase the day of the event. There will also be a drawing for a Red Cedar chair. William Stone and the Outlaws will have a cruise-in beginning at 10 a.m. that will also benefit the American Cancer Society.
Finger Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry Nov. 14
Finger Volunteer Fire Department will have an all you can eat fish fry and barbeque chicken dinner with trimmings and homemade desserts. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children. All proceeds will go towards the operating expenses of the Finger  Fire Department. Dine In or carry out is available. Please wear a mask for your protection!

Toy and Food Drive Nov. 14, 28
There will be a food and toy drive from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 14 and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Chester County High School, 552 E. Main St. Accepting new toys and non-perishable food. Roby Fire Department Fall Fundraiser Nov. 21
The Roby Fire Department will hold their fall fund raiser beginning at 5 p.m.
Nov. 21. Chili, hamburgers and hotdogs will be served. Cake walk will start at 6 p.m.  Mask not required but encouraged.

Fill a Fire Truck Event Nov. 27
Cash Express has partnered with the Chester County Fire Department for their annual toy and coat driver on Nov. 27 at 417 E Main Street. Please bring new or gently used coats and toys and canned goods.

The 2020 Henderson Christmas Parade will take place Thursday, Dec. 3, in downtown Henderson.

Free COVID Counseling Hotline
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Quinco Mental Health Center has partnered with The Tennessee Recovery Project to provide free phone counseling for those experiencing emotional health challenges related to COVID-19.  You will get a supportive, sympathetic ear along with practical advice and coping skills. The hotline, 866-511-4159, is answered live by a trained counselor seven days per week.  The hotline hours are 8 a.m.-midnight Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday. You can share as little or as much information as you are comfortable with. We are here to listen.

Volunteers Needed

The Ladies from the Henderson Community are seeking children ages 17 and below to do posters, essays, poems and oratoricals to support Black History Month, Feb. 2021.  We are also pursuing businesses in Chester County to display the youth’s work during black history month. CC Head Start Accepting Applications
Southwest Head Start is now taking application on three- and four-year old children for Chester County Head Start. There are no fees for services. Let us take your application by phone. Currentlt offering two options: classroom option (child will attend in a classroom setting four days a week with one virtual day) or virtual option (child will have five days of virtual learning).
