Senior Center Fall Trip

Sept. 28-Oct. 6

The Chester County Senior Center is planning a trip out West to see the extraordinary sites of Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, and the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. The trip is scheduled for Sept. 28-Oct. 6 (nine days, eight nights), via Motorcoach Transportation. Cost is $845 per person and is based on double occupancy. Add an additional $286 for single occupancy. $75 is due upon signing. Final payment is due July 21. Price includes transportation, lodging, 14 meals, and more. Barbeque Festival

Vendor Applications

The 42nd Annual Chester County Barbeque Festival committee is now accepting vendor applications for Chester County residents and businesses only at this time. The dates of the festival are September 27 and 28. Please call 989-5222 to request an application. 

Head Start Registration

Chester County Head Start is a preschool program for low income children ages three- to four-years old. Services offered include breakfast, lunch, special needs assistance and more. Hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30-1:30 p.m. To enroll, parents will need proof of income, child’s immunizations, birth certificate and insurance information. Call 989-5192 or visit swhrahs.org

29th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act July 26

Join JCIL as we celebrate the 29th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act at 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, July 26. We will be providing a free barbeque lunch. Everyone is invited. For more information, call 731-668-2211 or email information@jcil.tn.org

Beene Family Reunion July 27

The Beene family and friends will meet at Grace Baptist Church in Pinson at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. Bring your favorite dish. Come eat, visit and enjoy our family get together.

Lifeline Blood Drives July 29

Lifeline Blood Services will host the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive from 2-6 p.m. Monday, July 29, at First Baptist Church in Henderson.

Estate Planning July 31

Attorney Jay Johnson will be speaking on Financial Planning – Being Prepared for End of Life Expenses, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Old Friendship Baptist Church.

Library Book Sale Aug. 5

The Friends of the Chester County Library will hold a used book sale beginning Monday, Aug. 5.  Hardback books will be 50 cents, paperbacks are 25 cents or you may fill up a bag for $3.  Videos/DVDs/Audio books are $1 each and not included in the bag sale.

Chester County Historical Society Aug. 5

The Chester County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Senior Center. Speaker will be John Talbot. Come and bring a friend.
