2020 Election Day approaches; Chester County breaks early voting record

The 2020 Presidential Election Day approaches quickly. Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Today, Thursday, Oct. 29, is the last day to cast your ballot during early voting.
According to the Chester County Election Commission, the county broke the early voting record with still 4 days of voting remaining after the Saturday, Oct. 24, vote count.
The previous record was 3,906 votes and after Saturday, 4,139 people have voted in Chester County. That accounts for 37.97 percent of registered voters.
“We are so excited about the level of voter participation that we are seeing across the state,” said Chester County Administrator of Elections Kathy Vest. “Chester County has broken all records for early voting. Our previous record was 3,906 and we have already surpassed that with four days left to vote. We are hopeful this will continue through election day.”
By the end of the day Oct. 26, the number of votes in Chester were 4,397 (40.34 percent of registered voters.)
Tennesseans voting early or on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by Tennessee state government or by the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired.
