The Lady Lions basketball team will head into the 2019-20 season as the No. 1 team in the NAIA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the league announced Wednesday.
After a season that ended with yet another Fab Four appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, The Lady Lions return two major starters from a year ago in Haylee Croom and Chynia Brooks, a few key reserve players in Jamie Crum, Reagen Floyd, Alli Crumpler, and Alyssa LeMay, and a bunch of new faces that should not only make an impact this season, but be the building blocks for the years to come.
This is the 33rd time since 2011 that the Lady Lions have held the No. 1 overall ranking, but it is the first time in the history of the program they will go into the season as the top-ranked team.
The Lady Lions get their season started on Saturday, November 9, against Blue Mountain. The homecoming game is set to tip off at 1 p.m.
