Gotten Milk in Chester County?

Chester County cars lined Mill St. Tuesday morning to receive boxes of Prairie Farms milk and dairy products at no cost – as part of the Prairie Farms and USDA collaboration Farmers to Families program. Farmers to Families utilizes milk and dairy overages due to the coronavirus pandemic, sharing it with the public instead of allowing it to go to waste. The Prairie Farms milk truck visits several West Tennessee communities each week, a different city each day, partnering with food banks in some areas. This marked the third week locally, with more than 800 boxes distributed each week in Chester County, alone. Cities on next week’s route include Adamsville, Lexington, Huntingdon, Savannah, Summerville, Alamo and Henderson. As photographed, local volunteers worked quickly Tuesday morning, loading boxes of milk into a progressing line of vehicles. Prairie Farms will set up in Henderson again at 9 a.m. next Tuesday in the parking lot between the Freed-Hardeman University tennis courts and Brewer Sports Center, on Mill St., ready to deliver milk, and a smile.
