During the Chester County Commission’s last special session meeting on Monday, June 21, after a long discussion, a motion passed “to continue on with the purchase process of the regions bank building” with nine for considering buying the building and eight against.
The action was to move on in the process of considering the purchase, and this meeting is supposed to have the final vote on whether or not the building will be purchased.
The building, if purchased, will be bought with COVID-19 relief money which is known as the American Rescue Plan.
During this meeting, the commission is also scheduled to discuss the parameters and stipulations of the ARP. The ARP primarily focuses on mitigating the impact of future pandemics.
The commission is also set to discuss, consider and appoint any interested District 6 citizen to finish a recently vacated commissioner’s seat due to the retirement of former commissioner John Welch.
They will also consider the appointments of the Redistricting Committee.
Other items on the agenda include considering a resolution for Litter Grant and considering option to harvest timber on the 155 acres owned by Henderson and Chester County.
