Beverly Morton earns Assessor of the Year

Chester County’s own Beverly Morton, out of all the 95 counties in Tennessee, won the 2020 Tennessee Assessor of the Year.
“I am truly honored to be considered for this award and even more humbled to be chosen out of 95 counties. I never set out to win any awards. I just try to do the job I’ve been elected to do,” Morton said. “We have an excellent team in the Chester County Assessor’s office and we try to make sure everyone is treated fairly. If we see a problem, we fix it. I know a lot of folks like to say, well that is not my job, but in my office, we say – let’s get the job done. It is a privilege to serve the people of Chester County and an honor to be recognized by so many wonderful assessors from throughout the state.”
Dionne Davis, a real property clerk/Field Advisor in the Chester County Assessor Office, expressed how excited the office was when they found out about Morton’s achievement.
“The staff here at the Chester County Property Assessor office are elated that she was recognized for her outstanding dedication to duty to the people that live and work here in the community … She is a dedicated, hard-working, civil servant that also attained the Tennessee Three-Star Certification Certificate for the second year in a row for meeting or exceeding the programs annual requirements.”
