Chester County Director of Schools Troy Kilzer II was given a one-year contract extension to his position during the October CC Board of Education meeting. It does not go into effect until July 1, 2022.
“I think our director has done an outstanding job,” said board member Norris Frank.
The board also took the time to recognize the automotive teacher James Carter and his CCHS Auto Crew for their success in building a truck and being able to compete on an adult level at the First Annual Pro Touring Truck Shootout Auto Cross.
The boys who were a part of the experience said they all learned that they probably want to enter an automotive career.
Kilzer praised Carter on making this opportunity for the students.
“James is one of those guys that make our school system where it is… James is one of our leading educators that ensures that our guys and girls get scholarships that lead to careers.”
In fact, each of the boys of the CCHS Automotive were offered jobs once they are out of school.
The board of education also approved its subcommittee members. Becky Hutcherson and Mark Griffin are in the Policy committee. Shane Connor and Jeff Harris are a part of the Finance committee. Lastly, Ben Cupples and Norris Frank are a part of the Capital Projects committee.
The next school board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 19.
