Last Tuesday, the Chester County Cross Country Teams competed in the Region 7 A/AA Championship race. Going into the race, there were many emotions felt as the boy’s team was attempting to secure their fifth straight Regional Championship win. And they did just that. The team was led by Stewart Brown, who placed third. Garrett Robison placed eighth, Silas McManus placed 16th, Dillon Williams placed 24th, Brooks Johnson placed 44th, Joshua Roberts placed 52nd and Cooper Thompson placed 65th.
“It’s like a dream come true,” said senior Stewart Brown. He continued on by saying, “Going into this season, I had high hopes and expectations for this team. I always knew we had the opportunity to win Regions this year, I just knew we had to put in the work.”
Of the runners who ran, three were able to produce a personal best time, which helped push the Eagles to the top of the list.
On the girl’s side of the race, Julia Briggs was able to secure a spot that allows her to compete at State as well. She ran personal best as well with a time of 21:34, where she was able to place seventh overall in the race.
Both the boy’s team and Briggs will be competing at the State Championship race which will be held November 3 at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
