CCHS XC compete at Lexington and Memphis Twilight

On Tuesday, August 30, the Chester County cross country teams were able to compete at the ninth annual Lexington High School Tiger Run. Out of eight total teams, the Chester County girl’s team was able to come out with a second overall team finish. The team was led by Julia Briggs who placed fifth, Bella Lamb who placed 13th, Anna Bolton who placed 22nd, Lilly Allen who placed 43rd, Abby Sells who placed 47th, and Makenna Jacobs who placed 94th. There were 105 total runners who ran in the race. The boys were able to bring home the hardware as well by placing first overall as a team out of 14 total teams. The boy’s team was led by Stewart Brown who placed third, Garrett Robison who placed fourth, Silas McManus who placed 11th, Josh Roberts who placed 20th and Dillion Williams who placed 21st. There were 161 total runners in that race.
While some people may have spent their Labor Day weekend having fun, relaxing, and enjoying their extended weekend, the Chester Country cross country team spent it putting in work. This past Saturday, September 3, the teams traveled to Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis to compete in the annual City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic. While there, different people from the team got to compete at different levels throughout the late afternoon and into the night. The girls team was able to compete in the JV race where the team finsihed eighth out of 13 teams. The girls were led by Juila Briggs placing 26th, Bella Lamb who placed 31st, Lilly Allen who placed 80th, Anna Bolton who placed 91st, Abby Sells who placed 107th, Eden Burleson who placed 110th, and Makenna Jacobs who placed 150th. All of these placements were out of 157 total runners. On the boys side, the boys were able to race in the Varsity race. The team was led by Stewart Brown placing 77th, Silas McManus who placed 107th, Garrett Robison who placed 135th, Dillion Williams who placed 196th, and Josh Roberts rounded out the top five with a finishing place of 232nd. All of these places are out of 405 total runners. There were also boys who were able to run in the JV race. The top finishers for the guys in that race were Frankie Rich who placed 147th, Ben Clayton who placed 164th, Brady Wells who placed 168th, Luke Melton who placed 203rd, and Fonta Burnett who rounded out the top five coming in 218th. There were 313 total runners in their race. The boys were able to place 21st as a team out of 54 total teams.
The Cross Country team’s next race will be on Thursday, September 8, at Milan High school. Be sure to come out and support the teams as they continue their winning season!

Earlier last week on September 30, the Chester County High school Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in Lexington. The Boys finished in first place and the girls were able to place in second place.
