Bristol and Sydney Cherry recently competed in the 2020 Junior National Hereford Show in Kansas City, Mo., on July 15. There were a total of 780 Hereford heifers from all across the United States that traveled to Kansas City on Friday, July 10. The event lasted six days with educational contests and leadership events held in conjunction with the show amidst the COVID-19 challenges. These contests awarded young people both individually and as groups for their dedication to Hereford cattle and honored their successes throughout the event.
This was the first trip to the Junior National Hereford Show for the Cherry sisters. Bristol, a rising fourth grader at Chester County Middle School, placed fifth in her class. Sydney will be attending Chester County High School as a ninth grade student when school starts back. Not to be outdone by her little sister, Sydney placed third in her class. These placings are quite an accomplishment. The competition at a show of this magnitude can be staggering and somewhat overwhelming.
We are so proud to have Bristol and Sydney Cherry represent Chester County 4-H this summer at livestock shows and look forward to them participating in other 4-H events in the future. None of this would be possible without the support and dedication of their parents, Brandy and Jason Cherry. Thanks to all of you parents, grandparents, families, educators, and friends who make these opportunities available for our youth in Chester County.

Bristol placed fifth in her class. The girls and their cattle competed among 780 Herefords from across the United States.
