The Chester County 5/6 Boys All-Stars Dixie team recently earned the chance to compete at the 5/6 Dixie Youth World Series in Texarkana, Arkansas after becoming runner-ups in the Tennessee 5/6 Boys State Tournament.
The team went undefeated in the nine-team district tournament with a record of 5-0.
Then, they went 6-2 in the 16-team state tournament, finishing as state runner-up. Both of the losses were against Greenbrier, who are the state champions.
The Tennessee State Runner-ups title is the highest ever for a Chester County 5/6 Boys Team.
To top it off, this is the first time for a 5/6 Boys Chester County team to make it to the World Series.
This is just the second year for the 5/6 Boys World Series.
“We are so proud of these boys,” said coach Adam Cross. “They’ve worked so hard and have earned the incredible opportunity to play in the Dixie Youth World Series. We’re excited to see them take the field in Texarkana representing the state of tennessee.”
Now the team is trying to raise funds for the World Series which occurs July 22-25.
The boys have done different types of work in order to raise money for the trip.
