During the Chester County Board of Education meeting for Thursday, Jan. 21, the board celebrated the 70 years of service Joe Stanfill gave to the community by transporting students, athletes, coaches and more.
The board presented him with a plaque along with a bag of Chester County Eagles items.
LD Sims and Jimmy Plunk of the Tennessee Highway Patrol joined in on the celebration and honored him with a plaque as well.
“If you ever needed to set your watch to dependability, Mr. Joe will be that one you want. Just what’s he’s done in my short time at the bus shop alone, the constant advice and the willingness to help out whenever needed, not just on a sports route. One time we got a little desperate there and he drove a bus route for us a little while to help us out, it’s so greatly appreciated,” said Britt Eads, Chester County Schools Director of Transportation.
The board of education also made the COVID Leave Policy 2021 which extends the 80 hours of COVID Sick Leave to employees who did not use their 80 hours of COVID Sick Leave in 2020 under the FFCRA (Families First Coronavirus Response Act). This policy is in place from Jan. 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021.
