The Eagles had a tough time in the Hub City Classic on the weekend of Dec. 27-Dec. 30.
They started off the tournament against Madison Academic High School well, but fell behind to a point they could not catch up.
The beginning of the first half had the Eagles responding to all of the Mustangs shots, and they tied it at 23. However they fell behind by halftime and was down 39-31. Nonetheless, they ended the half with a buzzer beater 3-pointer shot by Will Brown.
During the second half, the Eagles slowly fell more and more behind which led to them losing 67-84. This is due to the Mustangs getting rebounds and putting shots back up that they missed. The Eagles prevented them from doing this often in the first half.
With the good effort they had in the first half, Head Coach Howard said that it proves the level that the Eagles can play every game.
“We proved we can play with anyone in our district and region when we do the little things right,” Howard said. “We came out from the tip.”
Saturday’s gloss against Liberty had similar results; final 80-42.
The Eagles have not yet played Trinity Christian Academy in the Hub City Classic for seventh place at the time of printing.

Overall Record (2-11)
District Record (1-2)
