In week two of high school football, Chester County had to compete against a team that was the Class 1A State Runner-up in 2021, the Mckenzie Rebels.
That being said, this was a tough competition for the Eagles which resulted in a loss for the team with a final score of 49-28.
During the first half, the Rebels outscored the Eagles 28-7. That one touchdown was a 1-yard rush by Chad Barham after running back Judiaz Prather took it from one side of the field to the other on a running play.
In the second half the Eagles played better as they were able to put up 21 points in the second half.
Eagles Head Coach Dewond Johnson saw the improvement in the second half.
“That second half, we got a little bit better. Even though the score is not going to say that, I saw some little things out of us that tells us we’re getting better and that’s what’s important,” he said.
One of those second half feats was a pass that receiver Barham pulled in with one hand and ran to the endzone that excited the Eagles fans.
Other touchdowns include a touchdown run by Prather and a touchdown reception by Hunt Pipkin.
This week Chester County is at Eagle Stadium as they compete against McNairy Central in their first regional matchup under the Friday night lights.
