The Eaglettes remain undefeated in their district and are tied for first in the district with McNairy Central after their big win against Jackson North Side; 72-37.
The games in the Gibson County Pre-Christmas Classic did not end in their favor though as both were losses against Greenfield (77-45) and Gibson County (46-40).
The game against Gibson County proved to be a tough one at the beginning for the girls as they could not stop the Pioneers from hitting four 3-pointers in a row from the start. Furthermore, the Pioneers continued to be dangerous from the outside as they hit 11 3-pointers total.
After being down 30-14 at the half, the Eaglettes slowly made a comeback as they were able to make more rebounds and shots, but they were never able to tie the game and loss as the time ran out.
“We’ve got to get our post players more involved… We just have so much to work on, especially without Mia [Hurst],” Head Coah Pipkin said. “She was such a big part of our offense.”
Record 6-5; District 3-0
