The Chester County Eaglettes won against Houston 60-55 on Friday, Dec. 18.
The next day, they played against the University School of Jackson, and loss 64-31.
With Mia Hurst down from an ankle injury the previous day, the team was down one of their vital players.
Because of that, Head Coach Lee Pipkin had to make a lot of adjustments in a short amount of time.
Though they had a major loss, Pipkin saw the positives from the game and believed the girls played well with the situation they were in.
“I think we responded well, and I think we made a lot of progress in certain areas,” she said. Pipkin told her team, “You can’t leave this game saying I got beat by 30. You need to leave this game knowing we did some things better.
She commented on examples of different players improving that night. “Jariyah learned to make really good passes.”
“She (Payton Rhodes) had to take on a bigger role handling the ball tonight, and I think she did a great job.”
The Eagles did not play the boys Christmas tournament last week.
