Chester County High School Cross Country boys win season opener

Both Chester County High School cross country teams opened their season this past Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Dresden Invitational in Dresden.
The boys’ team picked right up where they left off last season, coming home with the first place team win. They had all five of their top runners place in the top 15. Tucker Allen led the way with a runner-up finish, Carter Welch finished fourth followed by Garrett Robison in fifth and Cade Thompson seventh.
Josh Roberts was given “The Anchor Award,” an award given to the highest fifth place finisher out of all the teams with his 14th place finish. The boys had a team score of 31 for a 10-point win. The girls’ team also had a good start to the season led by freshmen Eden Burleson and Lilly Allen. Emma Eldridge, Abby Sells and Makenna Jacobs rounded out the top five for the girls’ team.
Both teams will compete next on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Lexington.
