The Chester County High School Soccer team fought hard against the South Side Hawks last Thursday, May 13, in the district finals.
After 80 minutes of regular play and two 10 minute overtimes, the game remained tied at zero, thus, the game went into Pks.
After both teams took five Pk attempts, it was still tied; both teams scored 4 out of five attempts. Chester County players who scored were Colston Callis, Alex Jones, Evans Bailey and Wyatt Burkhead.
However, when a sixth man was up, Eagles’ Amos Elliot’s kick did not find the net while South Side’s sixth man‘s kick did.
Then, that was game.
Nonetheless, since the Eagles still won the region runner-up title, they advanced to sectionals on Tuesday, May 18.
Head Coach Bobby Helton said he could not be more proud of his team.
“This is a team that never gives up. We keep grinding, and we keep grinding and we keep grinding,” he said.
