The Chester County High School Theater recently performed the musical, “Singin’ in the Rain” at Williams Auditorium.
Audience members were expressed how amazed they were of their performance.
The musical even had on-stage rain which was a great feat for all.
“The rain on stage was a dream come true. It was brought to life by the hard work of Derald Swain, our criminal justice teacher at CCHS, and his amazing set construction team made up of parents and students,” CCHS Theatre Director Mary Hicks said.
Hicks was proud of the cast, their performace and their dedication to it all.
“I am extremely proud of this cast and crew. They put in long hours to make this amazing show come to life,” she said.
The cast and crew had to cancel their last performance on Tuesday, March 17, but may do the performance after spring break if possible.
Senior leads Gideon McManus along with Kaitlyn Moore were sad this was their last performance, because they will miss all the friends and good times they had in the theater program.
“I’m sad to leave but excited for the future,” McManus said.
“We’re a family,” he said about his theatre friends.
Both will be continuing their acting as McManus will be attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) New York Conservatory of the Arts while Moore will be at Freed-Hardeman University.
Hicks will miss them along with the other graduating cast members as well.
“I am losing nine seniors this year who are leaving big holes to fill. I have loved watching their passion for and talent on the stage grow over the two years I have had the privilege to direct them,” she said.
Hicks thanks all the CCHS faculty, parents and local businesses who sponsored and assisted in the overall production.
“So many people had a hand in this production. Carol Ann Williams, CCHS English teacher, choreographed all the fabulous dances and Marcus Montgomery, CCHS Band Director, led the singing practices. We want to say thank you to all the parents and local businesses who sponsored and assisted in the overall production.  Henderson, Tennessee is such a supportive community. I love being a part of what is going on here.”
