Throughout this past year, the boys’ and girls’ track teams have found nothing but success. Just last Friday, April 29, the Girl’s 4 x 800-meter relay team placed first overall also setting a new school record in a time of 11:04.22. The relay team consisted of Bella Lamb, Peyton Griswell, Daisy McManus, and Hanna Cherry. The girl’s team also received a second place finish from Bella Lamb in the 3200-meter race, a third place finish from Hanna Cherry in the 800-meter race, Bella Lamb in the 1600-meter race, Hannah Rich in the discus, and a third place finish for the girl’s 4 x 400-meter relay race as well. On the boy’s side, the 4 x 800-meter relay team, consisting of Silas McManus, Garrett Robison, Stewart Brown, and Dillion Williams, placed first as well with a time of 8:47.87. The boys’ team was also led by efforts from Stewart Brown who placed first in the 1600 and 3200-meter races, Malik James who placed first in the shotput throw, Dillion Williams who placed first 400-meter race and second in the 800-meter race, and Silas McManus who placed third in both the 1600 and 3200-meter races as well. Both teams ended the night with a top five finish overall. Both teams are looking to be able to send athletes to the State Championship races which will be held in the coming weeks. Be looking for more information in the coming weeks.
I want to continue to thank the City of Henderson and Chester County for their continued support of us here at CCHS.
God Bless and Go Eagles!
