The Chester County Junior High Boys and Girls Basketball teams started their 20-21 seasons last week.
Their first matchup was on Thursday Oct. 22 versus Lexington. The CCJHS Boys won by a huge victory of 26, while the girls loss by three.
The second game was against Hardin County on Monday Oct. 26.
The CCJHS girls had the lead in the first quarter, but once Hardin County took the lead in the second, they never were able to make the comeback.
The head coach of the CCJHS girls said that the team lost some good players that went on to highschool cauusing them to have a younger, inexperienced team, but the girls still play hard. he expects them to get better throughout the season.
The CCJHS boys did not pressure the Tigers enough in the beginning according to their head coach Bobby Helton, but he said they eventually picked up their game.
They kept their opponents under 10 points for the whole game. The Tigers did not pass the 10-point mark until 20 second left in the third quarter.
The final score for the game was a crushing 51-16 with the Eagles on top.
“We’ve got team players, and all of them can play.”
