The Chester County Junior High Girls’ had an upsetting week.
They had a good game against Hardin County during the Best of West tournament and beat them 37-27, but fell to Decatur County during the championship.
“It was a heartbreaker for sure,” Head Coach Wes Murphy said. The junior Eaglettes only lost by a mere two points, 32-30.
Jariyah Williamson, Blakely Wilson and Jena Melton won the All-tournament Awards.
On Saturday Dec. 7, the Eaglettes did beat Dyersburg though 40-32.
“That was the best performance of the season from my team,” Murphy said as the Jariyah Williamson led in scoring with 21 points and Blakely Wilson managed to sink three 3-pointers.
On Monday Dec 9, they fell to JCS 21-29. They played a good game, but just could not manage to sink the shots that they positioned themselves to get.
“It wasn’t our best shooting night at all,” Murphy said.
