Includes curbside checkout, computers by appointment
For those who have eagerly anticipated the time when they would once again be able to check out real, actual, paper page-turning books, the wait is finally over.
The Chester County Library announced last week a five-pronged reopening plan in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently in phase two, the library will offer increasing services and opportunities with the implementation of each new phase, culminating with phase five – open for business as usual.
During phase two, the library is offering curbside pickup for checking out books and DVDs. Library material may be checked out online, by phone or email.
Computers are now available by appointment, at one hour, per person, per day, with a total limit of four patrons inside the library at any given time. Priority will be given to those completing school, job applications, and tests. Computers will be cleaned after each use and there is a one hour waiting time before another patron can be placed on that computer.
Faxing and print jobs may also be arranged and picked up curbside.
A date for progressing with phase three has not yet been released.
At this time, the 2020 Summer Reading Program is slated to go ahead as planned. An alternate, virtual plan is in place in case it is deemed unsafe to proceed as planned.
Middle School Book Club registration will begin next week.
